MUSKEGON, Mich. — The Muskegon Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire that may displace 10 people Monday.

The fire department responded to a call around 12 p.m. in the 1600 block of Dyson Street. Authorities said that 10 people lived in the home and five or six were inside at the time of the fire. There were no injuries, according to the fire department.

First responders said damage to the home was extensive, with the back of the house and the attic impacted the most, but the home is not considered a total loss.

The Muskegon Heights Fire Department assisted in fighting the blaze and the fire was put out in about 10 minutes from when the Muskegon Fire Department arrived on scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
