Man shot multiple times, killed in Muskegon Heights early Sunday

Detectives from the Muskegon Heights Police Department and the Michigan State Police are now investigating this shooting.

MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. — A man was killed early Sunday morning after being shot multiple times, according to Muskegon Heights police.

The shooting happened in the 3300 block of Hoyt Street around 6:30 a.m. Responding officers found 29-year-old Michael Stewart sitting in a white Buick with multiple gunshot wounds. 

Police say officers attempted life-saving measures, but Stewart died at the scene.

"The Muskegon Heights Police Department wishes to extend our deepest sympathies to all parties involved in this tragedy," reads a release from the department.
