MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. — Muskegon Police arrested two men in the killing of a missing Muskegon Heights man.
The Muskegon Police Department said Wednesday they've arrested and charged two West Michigan men in the killing of Michael Farmer.
Authorities said 63-year-old Farmer was reported missing on July 1 from the 2000 block of Jarmon Street in Muskegon Heights.
Then on July 8, Farmer's body was found in his vehicle in the 900 block of Flemming, which is less than two miles from his last known location.
Investigators believe the killing happened at the Jarmon Street address.
Robert Reed, 36, of Muskegon Heights, and Leland Snyder, 41, of Muskegon, are in custody, and each face open murder in connection with Farmer's death.
"The Muskegon Department of Public Safety wishes to extend our deepest sympathies to everyone involved in this tragedy," authorities said in a news release.
Law enforcement from multiple jurisdictions worked together, including the Muskegon Police Department, Michigan State Police, Michigan State Police Crime Lab, and the Muskegon Heights Police Department.
