MUSKEGON, Mich. — The Muskegon Rescue Mission (MRM) is preparing for a surge in homeless shelter needs as the closure of a Battle Creek shelter is leaving around 200 people in need of care.
On May 31, a low-barrier, 24-hour homeless shelter in Battle Creek is closing.
In response, MRM is opening its doors to the men, women and children affected by the closure, offering them essential services including shelter, meals, showers and clothing.
MRM has no geographic restrictions and is willing to help anyone in need.
“As we prepare for the sudden influx of need, we are urgently requesting donations from the community; contributions of food, clothing, and financial support are vital to ensure we can provide for our new guests. Your generosity can make a significant difference in the lives of those facing homelessness,” said Dan Skoglund, Muskegon Rescue Mission Executive Director.
