Muskegon teen suffers smoke inhalation trying to put out fire in garage

The Muskegon Fire Department says the teen was trying to put out a fire in his garage on his own.

MUSKEGON, Mich — A Muskegon teenager who tried to put out a fire in a garage Wednesday afternoon inhaled some smoke, the Muskegon Fire Department said.

The fire department said the garage was slightly damaged in the ordeal. They say the teen lives at the home where the fire started.

First responders examined the teen at the scene, and he was not transported to the hospital.

Structure Fire: Muskegon Firefighters are currently on scene of a structure fire on W. Dale near Henry. BC93 reporting a garage/outbuilding on fire. T41 just arrived first due.
