MUSKEGON, Mich. — A 25-year-old man died from a fall from an apartment complex balcony in Muskegon Township Wednesday evening.

The Muskegon Township Police Chief Tim Thielbar said two people fell from a balcony at the Quail Meadows apartment complex as the balcony railing failed.

The man suffered a bad fall, hitting his head on the ground. He died from his injuries.

A 22-year-old woman also fell, hurting her back. Officials said her injuries were non-life-threatening.

Authorities are looking into what led to the pair falling from the balcony but did say a witness told responding officers there was possibly a domestic situation unfolding prior to them falling.

The Muskegon Township Police consider the case a criminal investigation.
