James Coffee said it was one of the best days of his life when he could love and spread joy on Valentine's Day with others.

MUSKEGON, Mich. — A Muskegon man spent his Valentine's Day handing out flowers and gifts to people living at a nursing home.

James Coffee visited the residents and nurses at Christian Care Nursing Center in East Muskegon.

He gave a rose to every resident and said their reactions were breathtaking. He described the day as one of the best days of his life.

"I realize sometimes especially as older people forget about them, you know, and they need love too," said Coffee. "They've been here before so they all deserve flowers. Because if it wasn't for them, we wouldn't be here you know? I mean, so that's why I did I'm like, I just I want you there smiles I want them to feel the love I want them to feel good and feel appreciated."

Coffee said he inspires to be the light in the dark world and spread positivity.

He said he plans on doing it again.

"This is gonna be a lifetime," said Coffee.
