MUSKEGON, Mich. — Muskegon Public Schools (MPS) announced Wednesday night that the district would be closed Thursday due to a "utility issue."

13 ON YOUR SIDE reached out to Superintendent Matthew Cortez who told us the issue was a water main breakage.

The district said the issue does affect all MPS buildings and therefore all buildings would be closed while they work to resolve the issue.

Cortez said they hope to have the break fixed on Thursday so that classes can resume on Friday.

In the mean time, Parent-Teacher Conferences will still be held at the high school and middle school.
