MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM) -- The USS SILVERSIDES submarine is receiving national attention in the United State Naval Institute's monthly magazine.

The World War Two submarine is credited with sinking 23 ships. The Naval Institute's December 'Proceedings' magazine includes an article on how the sub interrupted Japan's maritime highway during the war.

The SILVERSIDES is open for tours during the holiday break and on Monday, December 29, a special event at the museum will allow visitors to use submersible remote control vehicles. They will also learn how plastics are hurting our waterways.
