WHITEHALL, Mich. — With record-breaking rainfall recorded in the Muskegon area on Tuesday, some nursing home residents in Whitehall had to be evacuated due to flooding.
SKLD staff posted on their Facebook page Tuesday evening saying that there was minor flooding in some parts of the nursing home. Because of this, residents were moved to other areas of the facility.
Staff emphasized that all residents are safe.
"We will provide an update as we work diligently to repair the building and get residents back to their rooms," the Facebook post reads.
As of Tuesday evening, Muskegon had received 4.42 inches of rain, setting a daily record for Sept. 24 and a monthly record for September. This is also the third-highest daily rainfall ever recorded in Muskegon.
