No injuries in early morning fire in Kalamazoo

Firefighters said they extinguished blaze in about 35 minutes

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — No one was hurt in an early morning house fire in Kalamazoo Saturday. 

Kalamazoo Public Safety tells 13 ON YOUR SIDE that the blaze broke out just after midnight at a home on Russell Street, east of Portage in the Edison neighborhood.

There was heavy flames and smoke coming from the home when officers first arrived, but they were able to get the blaze under control in about a half hour. 

It's unknown if anyone was at home at the time, but no one was hurt.

The Kalamazoo Public Safety Fire Marshall is investigating the incident.
