BYRON CENTER, Mich. — If you have a sweet tooth, we have good news.

A nostalgic soda and candy shop is holding a ribbon cutting at the Tanger Outlets in Byron Center on Friday, May 17. They'll open their doors to the public at 4:15 p.m.

Rocket Fizz has locations across the United States and Canada. This is the second location in the Grand Rapids area, the other off East Beltline near the Celebration Cinema movie theater.

The shop offers over 1,000 types of candy from all over the world and 400 types of soda. They also make their own taffy in over 100 flavors.

It's the first franchise for local owners Brian and Laura Boyer, who are lovers of the other Rocket Fizz locations. They say they wanted to share the joy of being a kid in a candy store with their community.

The public is welcome to their grand opening. Their new store is location near Journeys in the outlet mall.
