ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. — Friday morning Allegan County Dispatch received a call from a retired firefighter about a crash, according to the Allegan County Sheriff's Office.
The crash occurred on M-40 Highway south of 102nd Ave in Trowbridge Township, Allegan County.
An Allegan County deputy arrived on scene along with Pinegrove Fire Department. They attempted lifesaving measures on a 30-year-old woman from Lawrence. The woman was later pronounced dead.
The Allegan County Crash Reconstruction Team investigated the scene, they said it appeared that the woman was driving southbound when she crossed the centerline. She then collided with a pickup truck heading northbound.
The pickup truck was being driven by a 71-year-old man from Gobles. He was brought to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
There were no other occupants in either vehicle, names are not being released until families have been notified.
