One injured after house fire in Holland

A male resident was able to escape the home, but did sustain injuries.

OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — One person was injured after a house fire in Holland Friday night.

Police say the fire started just after 8 p.m. at 1003 College Avenue. Crews arrived to heavy smoke coming from the home.

A male resident was able to escape the home, but did sustain injuries. The man was placed in immediate care of paramedics and transported to Holland Hospital.

Crews were able to get the fire contained by 10 p.m. but there is significant smoke damage to the home.
