GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office has found an 82-year-old man who went missing on Thursday evening.

OCSO said Stephen Sietsema was found, cleared medically and returned to his family safely.

Deputies thanked the community members who volunteered to aid in the search.

Someone called dispatchers just after 7:30 a.m. Friday to report Sietsema missing in the area of Port Sheldon and 28th Avenue in Georgetown Township.

Authorities said Sietsema had been last seen at his home on Thursday around 11 p.m. wearing a long-sleeved gray shirt, black sweatpants, black socks and no shoes.

Sietsema stands about 5'9" and weighs about 290 pounds.

Despite his reported mobility issues, law enforcement believes he did not take a vehicle and walked away from his home.

OCSO said they used K9s, drone teams, the Ottawa and Kent County search and rescue teams and several volunteers in their search.
