OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — A woman was injured Thursday evening when she was hit by a car while riding her bike in Ottawa County.

Deputies say the crash happened around 7 p.m. on Fillmore Street in Olive Township. A Chevrolet Malibu, driven by a 34-year-old Fruitport man, had been traveling westbound on Fillmore Street when the driver was distracted by the glare from the sun, according to deputies.

The driver then crossed the fog line and allegedly hit a 20-year-old woman who had been riding her bike eastbound.

The woman, who is from Brownstown Township, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
