OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — A man is facing several charges after refusing to stop for deputies, attempting to hit a police cruiser and leading deputies on a chase on Sunday.

Ottawa County deputies were in the area of 8th Avenue and Jackson Street in Georgetown Township for a traffic-related investigation when they saw a reckless driver nearby. Deputies say they attempted to stop the driver, but he attempted to hit a deputy's patrol vehicle head-on.

The driver, who was in a Pontiac Grand Prix, then led deputies on a chase into Kent County. He was stopped by the Home Depot off Wilson Avenue and taken into custody without incident.

There were no injuries or property damage reported.

The man, 38, was lodged in the Ottawa County Jail on multiple charges.
