OTTAWA COUNTY, Michigan — A 34-year-old Hudsonville woman has died after a crash with a semi in Holland Township Wednesday afternoon.

The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened just after 3 p.m. on Adams Street and the off-ramp for westbound I-196.

Crash scene investigators believe the 50-year-old semi-truck driver from Florida was stopped at the intersection with flashing red lights in all directions.

Authorities said the semi was stopped and starting up on Adams Street to go eastbound from the off-ramp

That's when the 34-year-old woman in a Dodge Dakota was westbound on Adams Street, and came through the intersection.

Authorities said the pickup truck struck the trailer of the semi, and she died from her injuries in the crash.

Law enforcement is asking the public to avoid the area as crews continue to investigate and clean up the wreckage.
