OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — One person was injured after being hit by a car on Saturday evening.
The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to the area just south of Port Sheldon Street on 120th Avenue for a report of a crash between a pedestrian and a car.
Initial reports indicated the pedestrian was conscious and talking, deputies said.
According to deputies, witnesses said the pedestrian, a 53-year-old Zeeland man, had been driving in the area and was in a one-car accident previously.
Deputies said when the man got out of his car, he stepped onto the road in front of a 2022 Chevy Silverado driven by a 64-year-old Hudsonville man, according to witnesses.
The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital for injuries and 120th Avenue was closed for a short time to investigate the crash and clear the road, deputies said.
The crash is currently still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office or Silent Observer.
