KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A person is dead after being hit by a train in Kalamazoo on Saturday, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.
KDPS posted on X around 1 p.m. and said units were on the scene of a fatal crash between a train and a pedestrian near W. Main Street and the Elm crossover.
Inbound W. Main Street is closed and will be for several hours, police said.
The public is asked to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
