PULLMAN, Mich. — The man who shot his pregnant girlfriend in a Lee Township home has learned his sentence.

Dylan Michael Percival, 24, from the Pullman area, faced 12 charges from the June shooting. He pleaded guilty to three of them: having a firearm as a prohibited person, domestic violence and a firearm discharging, causing injury. All nine of the other charges were dropped.

Percival learned Tuesday he will serve at least 2 years in jail. At most, he could serve 10 years. The judge gave him 125 days of jail credit.

On June 15, ACSO said Allegan Central Dispatch received a call from a home on 105th Avenue in Lee Township that a pregnant woman had been shot.

The Lee Township contract deputy arrived at the scene and began first aid on a pregnant 31-year-old woman who had a gunshot wound. ACSO said she was taken to a local hospital where she and the baby were in good condition.

According to ACSO, the victim was in an argument with Percival. During the argument, Percival had a pistol that went off, hitting the woman in her abdomen and leg.

One of the witnesses said Percival and his pregnant girlfriend were arguing about his "lifestyle and life choices," court documents show.

During that argument, the witness said Percival pulled out a gun from his waistband and racked a round through the slide to "prove it was real."

As he was playing with the gun, the witness told authorities, the gun went off and hit the woman.

Percival left the scene on a motorcycle that was reported stolen, ACSO said. Deputies were then able to find the gun used and made contact with Percival over the phone while trying to find him.

After several tips from the community, Percival was found on June 17 and taken into custody.

Percival recently served time in prison for felonious assault and the possession of Methamphetamine.
