Reward offered in Montcalm County double homicide

Jesse and Virginia Seward were found dead in their Sheridan-area home last week. Their killer has still not been found.

MONTCALM COUNTY, Mich. — The murders of a couple in their 80s near the small town of Sheridan in Montcalm County are now leading to a possible reward for information about suspects.

Silent Observer of West Michigan said it's aiding Michigan State Police and the Seward family in trying to get tips into the investigation by offering a reward in the case.

Tips that lead to an arrest or significant break in the case are eligible for a reward, but the organization did not identify how much that reward may be.

Jesse and Virginia Seward were found dead in their home on Beaver Drive near Sheridan last Wednesday. A family member went to check on them and found them both dead.

Based on evidence at the scene, police determined both died by homicide.
