GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Ladies and gentlemen! Boys and girls! The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus kick off their Grand Rapids show Friday night.
“It's two hours of nonstop action,” said Brandon Glass, manager with Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey. “Families will be excited, the kids will be excited for the music. Parents be excited to be brought back to their like nostalgia, their childhood of going to the circus.”
The group will bring exciting performances and nail-biting stunts to Van Andel Arena all weekend long.
While there are no animals involved in the show, the show is boasting some never-before-seen acts. There are 75 performers from 18 different countries that are ready to show off their cultures and their skills — from the high wire to flying trapeze to acrobatic stunts. Each troupe will wear costumes that reflect their heritage.
You can also expect classic circus performances like juggling and clowns.
Many of the performers have more than a decade of experience with their acts.
Attendees can expect a lot of interaction from the performers, something that performer Maria Lopez said is an essential part of the circus experience.
"For Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey, the more important part is the family, and also creating family memories was very important to all the different generations who've come to see over 150 years of history on the Greatest Show on Earth," she said.
The all-new show will play six performances at Van Andel Arena on Oct. 25, 26 and 27. For tickets and more information, click here.
