GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) - A Rockford police sergeant will spend a year on probation after entering a plea in court Friday.
Aaron Sawyer, 32, pled guilty to operating while intoxicated. That's a lesser charge than the original charge of breaking Michigan's "super-drunk" law.
Police pulled him over near the corner of Cannonsburg Road and Northland Drive in the spring. They say he was driving with a blood alcohol level of at least .17.
