MICHIGAN, USA — U.S. Senator Gary Peters announced he's taking his annual motorcycle tour across Michigan next week.
On Wednesday, Aug. 7 Peters' "Kalamazoo to the Soo" tour will begin in Kalamazoo.
Throughout the tour, he will stop in Wyoming, Traverse City and Sault Ste. Marie before ending in Sanford on Aug. 9.
Peters will be joined on his route by veterans, union workers, motorcycle safety advocates and constituents.
“There’s no better way to see our beautiful state than on a motorcycle,” Peters said. “I’m grateful for the opportunity this tour brings each year to meet with Michiganders and talk about how, together, we are making our state a better place to work, live and raise a family. This year, I’m looking forward to our ride from the ‘Zoo to the Soo.’”
Peters will use his nearly 600-mile motorcycle ride across the state to discuss different topics at his stops.
“We’re going to be talking about everything from protecting workers’ rights, to strengthening Michigan’s defense assets and critical infrastructure, to boosting local economic development and ensuring Michigan communities can quickly recover when struck by disaster,” Peters said.
Peters said additional information about his stops will be released in the coming days.
