KALAMAZOO, Mich. — One man is dead and another person is injured after a shooting on Saturday night in Kalamazoo, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.
Police said around 10:25 p.m. officers were dispatched to reports of shots fired in the 1300 block of Portage Street.
When they arrived, police said it was determined that a shooting had happened in the parking lot of a local business.
KDPS said two people arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds.
Police said one of the victims, 32-year-old Shondale Devon Kellumn from Kalamazoo, died at the hospital.
The second victim, a 33-year-old Kalamazoo resident, had a non-life-threatening injury and was released from the hospital.
Based on the preliminary investigation, police said there's no threat to the general public.
On Sunday evening, KDPS said they arrested a 43-year-old Kalamazoo man in connection to the shooting. He's scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
