KENT COUNTY, Mich. — A garage was completely destroyed Tuesday in a fire in Solon Township.
Authorities say the fire began around 7 a.m. in the 14600 block of Hanna Avenue NE. When crews arrived, a detached garage was fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters began working to extinguish that fire while attempting to keep the flames from spreading to a second detached garage next to the first one.
The first garage is a total loss. The second garage had damage to about half of it, according to authorities.
No one was inside at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. The power had gone out at the property around 1:30 a.m.
The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
