South Haven Area Emergency Services rescue family dog in morning house fire

It's not clear yet what started the fire, and the cause remains under investigation.

SOUTH HAVEN, Mich — No one was hurt after a late-morning house fire in South Haven on Sunday. 

The South Haven Area Emergency Services (SHAES) said they were dispatched to a house on fire in the 600 block of North Shore Drive at 10:35 a.m.

That's where firefighters found flames coming out of a second-floor window. 

No people were home at the time, but South Haven Police made it inside first to rescue the family pet. 

SHAES said they got some help from the Bangor, Covert and Ganges fire departments. 

It's not clear yet what started the fire, and the cause remains under investigation.
