Deputies: Man arrested after attacking others with machete during fight at Sparta Twp. party

The two men sustained minor injuries during the fight and are being treated at a local hospital. The suspect is also receiving treatment for minor injuries.

SPARTA, Mich. — A Kent County man has been arrested after attacking and injuring two others with a machete early Monday morning.

The fight happened at a party on Kenowa Avenue NW just before 5 a.m. Deputies say a man broke windows and attacked two other men with a machete after a fight broke out.

The man was arrested after deputies were called to the scene.

The two men sustained minor injuries during the fight and are being treated at a local hospital. The suspect is also receiving treatment for minor injuries.

Deputies say the case will be reviewed by the Kent County Prosecutor's Office. The man could face felonious assault charges.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the incident.
