KENT COUNTY, Mich. — A 19-year-old was killed Monday morning in a collision in Spencer Township.

Deputies say it happened around 8 a.m. on 19 Mile Road. A 19-year-old Greenville man was driving a Hyundai Genesis eastbound when he attempted to pass in a no-passing zone. The Hyundai then collided with a BMW at the top of a small hill, deputies say.

The Greenville man was killed in the crash. The passenger, an 18-year-old Sumner woman, sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the BMW, a 39-year-old Battle Creek man, also sustained minor injuries.

Speed is considered a factor in this crash. The investigation is still ongoing.
