Spring Lake man loses wedding ring at parade

He thinks the combination of the slippery bubble solution combined with some recent weight loss made for a messy situation.

FERRYSBURG, Mich. - A Spring Lake man needs your help after losing something pretty valuable on the 4th of July. Benson Mitchell was walking in the Ferrysburg parade when his wedding ring slipped off.

"We were marching in the 4th of July parade and I do big bubbles, it's like my hobby. We got to the end of the parade and I went to go wipe my hands off from the bubble stuff and I realized it was not on anymore,' Mitchell told 13 On Your Side.

He thinks the combination of the slippery bubble solution combined with some recent weight loss made for a messy situation.

"I was initially kind of like shocked," he said.

Now he and his wife of 19 years need your help finding the ring.

Mitchell describes the ring as a:

  • white gold band
  • yellow gold in the middle
  • two-tone look to it
  • Has 'Josten 14K' on the inside

The Spring Lake resident is confident he lost it along the Ferrysburg parade route and hopes someone will see it and turn it in.

"I would definitely appreciate it," he added.

If you do come across this ring you're urged to contact the Mitchells.
