The incident took place on Saturday at ReNew Woodlake Apartments, according to dispatch.

WYOMING, Mich. — One person is in custody following a home invasion at a Wyoming apartment complex, according to the Wyoming Police Department.

Police said around 4:45 a.m. on Saturday officers responded to the 2600 block of Woodlake Road SW on the report of a home invasion.

Kent County Dispatch said the situation unfolded at ReNew Woodlake Apartments.

Officers said the resident of the unit was able to get out safely and when they arrived, the suspect was still in the victim's apartment.

The Wyoming Police Tactical Arrest and Confrontation Team and Crisis Negotiators were called to the scene to help get the suspect out.

The suspect was taken into custody several hours later, police said.

As of 3:15 p.m., property managers and police said the incident had been resolved and residents could carry on with their day.
