PORTAGE, Mich. — A young child died Tuesday morning in Portage, and law enforcement is looking into it.
Portage Police and Fire crews were called to a home in the 600 block of Della Street just before 10 a.m. to a report of an unresponsive infant.
Fire and EMS workers tried to help the 13-month-old, who was then rushed to a nearby hospital.
Doctors later pronounced him dead, though how he died was unclear.
Law enforcement said they are investigating his death, and are waiting for autopsy results from the Kalamazoo County Medical Examiner's Office.
