GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — If you have Verizon and experienced issues with your phone connection recently, you're not alone. Verizon officials say a software update caused connection issues across West Michigan.

The update caused difficulties making calls overnight and into Wednesday morning. 13 ON YOUR SIDE received multiple tips complaining about the issue.

If you're still experiencing difficulties with your connection, Andrew Testa with Verizon says there's a simple solution.

"Our engineers have resolved the issue, however customers who have not restarted their phones today may continue to experience issues. Anyone continuing to experience issues making calls this morning should restart their phone to fix the issue," Testa said in a statement.

Verizon officials also want to reiterate that 911 service was not impacted for customers during the outage.
