WATCH: Slow-moving police chase in Walker ends with two arrest

Officers found methamphetamine, heroin and stolen items inside the vehicle.

WALKER, Mich. — Two people are facing a slew of charges, including possessing drugs and retail fraud, after officers searched their car following a low-speed pursuit.

Police say the incident happened around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday. A Ford Ranger with three occupants was driving on Wilson Avenue SW with no taillights, according to police. When officers attempted to stop the car, the driver refused to stop.

The car fled down Wilson Avenue at 15 mph, and officers were able to box in the vehicle due to the low speeds. The Ford Ranger collided with a police cruiser and came to a stop.

Officers found methamphetamine, heroin and stolen items inside the vehicle.

A 45-year-old Kentwood man was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin, fleeing and eluding, driving on a suspended license, driving with no insurance and retail fraud.

A 28-year-old Kentwood woman was arrested for retail fraud and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The third passenger was released at the scene.
