GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — It's a surprise that's been almost a year in the making.
Eight-year-old Enna Groot, finally has her wheelchair accessible van.
"I don't really think there's words to describe how grateful we are, and what a blessing it is for her," said Enna's mom Nycki Groot.
The family raised almost $60,000 to buy it.
"The bike trip was really just a small part," said Bob. "The huge part was just the support of the people just have neighbors of school friends and families of our church family of just so many people."
Enna has Spina Bifida, a condition that makes it difficult for her to move around without a wheelchair.
While she's been learning independence, her new wheels will make that process a little easier.-
The van may even be hers someday, with some special modifications different from your ordinary van.
"I have my own van now, and now my mom and dad don't have to lift me up like the other one," said Enna. "I like it good!"
Because of the generosity from her community, and even strangers, Enna will now be able to travel with less restrictions, more peace of mind, and knowing that there's still people out there that care.
"Words can't express how appreciative we are of the community and family members and friends that have come alongside us and just are there the support, they're the heroes," said Nycki. "We didn't do anything here. You know, like our father-in-law said, God's put the seed in, and he's the one who deserves the glory. It's a miracle, really."
