Not many designers can say they've met the President of the United States, let alone worked in his house.
AIGA West Michigan welcomed Ashleigh Axios Tuesday night, the creative director and digital strategist at the White House. She spoke at the City Flats Hotel about her experience redesigning whitehouse.gov.
The event was part of West Michigan Design Week, happening through Saturday in Grand Rapids.
The event is "to celebrate design and to help promote to businesses that we do have a lot of designers here, and to increase businesses and companies coming to Grand Rapids for our design talent," said event chair Sara Klele.
Mimi Valdes, who is Pharell's chief creative officer, and one of the producers of the "Happy" music video, is speaking at the Wealthy Theater on Thursday.
