31-year-old man accused of setting car on fire in front of Whitehall City Hall

The Police Department said they used surveillance video and tips to track down the 31-year-old and tie him to the crime.

WHITEHALL, Mich. — Authorities in Muskegon County announced the arrest of a man who they accuse of setting a car on fire in front of City Hall last December. 

Daniel Guerra, 31, is facing arson and two counts of preparation to burn real property, all felonies. 

The Whitehall Police Department said the Muskegon County Prosecutor authorized an arrest warrant for Guerra on Friday, and a deputy arrested him in Kent County on Saturday. 

He's accused of burning a car in the City Hall parking lot on Dec. 21. 

Detectives pieced together video and tips as well as other evidence to tie him to the crime. 

He's being held at the Muskegon County Jail.
