Opening day for the air show was on Friday and the festivities began with a flag drop by The Misty Blues.
The rest of the night featured a brand-new Friday Twilight Show Presented by Howmet Aerospace. There was live music from Yard Sale Underwear and the aerial performances were designed for twilight conditions.
The air show continued on Saturday and Sunday.
With the first new act this year, husband and wife duo Kyle and Liz Franklin took comedy to the skies with "Franklin's Flying Circus."
Kyle is the son of the legendary air show pilot Jimmy Franklin and began flying at 8 years old.
For their Wings Over Muskegon act, Kyle used his piloting skills to create the illusion of someone who's never flown a plane before jumping into a Piper Super Cub and taking it for a joyride.
A sneak peek into the performance can be found here.
Two fighter aircraft from different eras and countries also took part in the show.
The FG-1D Corsair, a Navy carrier-based aircraft, will be flown by Springville, New York native Louis Horschel.
According to the Michigan Flight Museum, this aircraft was deemed by many World War II Japanese pilots as the most daunting American fighter. The museum said it became the most capable fighter and bomber in the naval fleet at the time.
Horschel is in an elite class of pilots chosen to fly in the U.S. Navy Legacy Flight program and the U.S. Air Force Heritage Flight program.
The second aircraft, the MiG-17F, was flown by Randy W. Ball.
The Michigan Flight Museum said this was the primary enemy aircraft in the Vietnam War and production began on it in the 1950s. The museum said the aircraft was one of the earliest production jet fighters in the world after an afterburner.
Ball spent four years restoring his MiG-17F and has flown in more than 1,500 performances.
Previously announced performers in the air show included the Farewell Tour of the U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II, GhostWriter Airshows, Hot Streak II Jet Truck and local formation team, The Hooligans.
There were food trucks at the air show, as well as beverages including beer, wine and cocktails available for purchase.
Kids ages 15 and younger could get into the event for free.
Wings Over Muskegon will not take place in 2025 due to a major construction project at the Muskegon County Airport.
However, the air show is expected to return in 2026.
