GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — With Christmas only 10 days away, the Fulton Street Farmer's Market is holding an event to help the community support local businesses while checking names off their lists.
The Winter Holiday Market is being held on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There are more than 100 vendors in attendance, with artwork, crafts, sweet treats and more.
"It's so exciting," said Dana Eardley, the executive director of the market. "It's such a wonderful time of year. You know, Fulton Street Market is open year-round, and we always have incredible offerings from local businesses. But to see so many people coming out and having that holiday spirit has been really exciting."
Eardley said the market gives the community a special opportunity to not only shop locally but to connect with the people they're purchasing from.
"When you shop local, you're really supporting, you know, the people of our community, the members of our community that are bringing their time and their talents to us directly," she said. "And we're so lucky to be able to have opportunities like the Winter Holiday Market to really meet the people behind the products and understand why what they're bringing here is so special, and understand their artwork."
The market is currently in its second season and will be open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. through April.
