Woman hit by truck while riding electric bike in Grand Rapids, seriously hurt

Officers say a woman was riding her bike eastbound on 44th Street Monday morning when she was hit by a truck that was turning from Plymouth Avenue.

A woman riding an electric bike on 44th Street was hit by a car in Grand Rapids Monday.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A woman riding an electric bike was hit by a truck, causing serious injuries, the Grand Rapids Police Department says

Officers say a woman was riding her bike eastbound on 44th Street around 10 a.m. when she was hit by a truck that was turning from Plymouth Avenue. 

She was transported to the hospital in "grave condition," police say.

The truck's driver remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators. 

The crash remains under investigation, but police believe neither alcohol nor speed were factors in the crash.
