Grand Haven woman in custody after hitting multiple homes with 2 children in the car

While apprehending the woman, two deputies received minor injuries.

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — A woman was taken into custody after crashing into multiple Grand Haven homes on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.

Around noon, troopers were called to the area of 168th Avenue and Warner on the report of a hit-and-run involving a black SUV and a house. 

As they were responding to this incident, deputies said Ottawa County Dispatch received more calls which stated the SUV crashed into other properties and even more houses.

Grand Haven Public Safety Officers and deputies found the suspect vehicle near the 150000 block of Briarwood.

The suspect was a 38-year-old woman from Grand Haven who had two children with her in the car, deputies said. 

While apprehending her, two deputies received minor injuries. Neither the suspect nor the children in the car with her were hurt in the crashes, according to troopers.  

This incident is currently under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.
