Woman injured after losing control of car, driving down embankment

Deputies said a 20-year-old Edwardsburg woman was traveling westbound on Hospital Street in Jefferson Township when she disregarded a stop sign.

CASS COUNTY, Michigan — A woman has minor injuries after she lost control of her car and drove down an embankment in Jefferson Township on Saturday. 

According to the Cass County Sheriff's Office, around 8:50 p.m. deputies were called to investigate a crash near the intersection of Hospital Street and M-60. 

Deputies said the investigation shows that a 20-year-old Edwardsburg woman was traveling westbound on Hospital Street when she disregarded the stop sign at Hospital Street and M-60. 

She lost control of the car, going down an embankment before coming to rest in a wooded lot on the side of M-60, deputies said. 

She was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, according to deputies.
