PULLMAN, Mich. — A woman was killed Wednesday morning when a train hit her vehicle in Allegan County.

Deputies say the crash happened just before 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of 108th Avenue and 56th Street in Lee Township. A 54-year-old Pullman woman was driving east on 108th Avenue when she approached the railroad crossing.

Witnesses say the woman did not come to a stop at the railroad crossing and continued into the path of a southbound train.

Deputies say the woman was found ejected from her vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

This crash remains under investigation. Investigators say speed or alcohol do not appear to be factors.
