21-year-old woman killed in two-car crash in Muskegon

Deputies say a Chevy Trailblazer ran a red light and was hit by another car, killing one passenger.

A crash on Whitehall Road caused one death Friday.

MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich. — A two-car crash caused one death in Muskegon County Friday, the Sheriff's Office said. 

The crash happened around 12:57 p.m. at the intersection of Whitehall Road and River Road in Laketon Township. 

Deputies say a Chevy Trailblazer was driving south on Whitehall Road when the driver ran a red light at the intersection of River Road.

The Trailblazer was hit by a Nissan Frontier that was headed west on River Road, which had a green light. 

The Trailblazer's passenger, 21-year-old Amber Prause, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials say. 

The crash remains under investigation.
