Easter Bunny comes to Woodland Mall for 'Bunny Book Bash'

There will be face painting, balloons, games and crafts. The Cat in the Hat and Belle from "Beauty and the Beast" will be there to read to kids.

KENTWOOD, Mich. — On Saturday, leaders from Woodland Mall are promoting childhood literacy by celebrating National Reading Month and the Easter season at the same time.

They'll be hosting their first-ever "Bunny Book Bash" from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for free.

There will be face painting, balloons, games and crafts. The Cat in the Hat and Belle from "Beauty and the Beast" will be there to read to kids.

It'll also be your first chance to get your child's picture taken with the bunny this year.

The first 50 kids in line will get the chance to make their own reading bunny, a stuffed rabbit that loves to read.

"Reading is so incredibly important to be able to learn at a young age, and be able to carry that through the rest of your life," said Woodland Mall's Marketing Manager Kennedy Vancalbergh. "It's really a building stone for your education."

"It's so incredibly important to be able to capture that moment and be able to really bring joy to these kids, and create a memory for them in Woodland mall that they'll be able to take and remember the rest of their life," Vancalbergh added.

Photos with the bunny continue at Woodland Mall through March 30th.
