GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — If you're still checking off your holiday wish list, plenty of local businesses are hosting Christmas shopping events and asking for your support.
The Woodland Weavers and Spinners Guild of Grand Rapids is holding its Holiday Textile Arts Market this weekend.
The event will show off the work of local artists, as well as feature a demonstration area where visitors can learn about the tradition.
Fiber artist Kwasi Kena said the event is not just for the artists.
"This is really an opportunity for intergenerational folks to come here, families can come here and learn how to do things," said Kena. "And it's just a wonderful opportunity for people to come and see what artisans do and support local artists."
The market will be open Saturday until 4 p.m. at Aquinas College's Donnelly Center.
