WYOMING, Mich. — A man is in custody following a bank robbery in Wyoming on Friday morning.
According to the Wyoming Police Department, the robbery occurred around 9 a.m. at the Fifth-Third Bank at 2828 Michael Avenue SW.
Officers said the suspect entered the bank and approached a teller, demanding money and implying he had a weapon.
The suspect then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to police.
Officers said when they were searching the area for the suspect, they found a person who matched the suspect description on 28th Street SW, between Buchanan Avenue SW and S. Division Avenue.
The suspect, a 65-year-old man, was taken into custody and is being lodged at the Kent County Jail.
Wyoming Police Detectives are still investigating the robbery in coordination with the FBI.
