WYOMING, Mich. - The city of Wyoming announced who the new fire chief would be on Monday, June 11.
In a unanimous vote, the Wyoming City Council named Brian Bennett as the new fire chief. Bennett has been the deputy fire chief for three years.
The previous fire chief, Chief Charles Lark, retired at the end of May after working in public service for decades.
Bennett served as the fire chief for Caledonia Township before coming to Wyoming.
The city also announced that Lt. James Maguffee has also been promoted to administrative captain for police services. That position was recently vacated by Chief Kimberly Koster. Koster was named the first female director of public safety.
