GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan — A Grand Rapids man woke up Wednesday feeling like he's still dreaming. He just won $1 million from a lottery ticket bought in Kentwood.

Juan Silvera, 69, matched the five white balls—12-13-33-50-52—in the March 30 drawing to win the big prize.

Silvera bought his winning ticket at Paris Spirits & Wine, located at 2871 East Paris Avenue Southeast.

“I play Powerball regularly,” he said. “After the Powerball drawing, I took my ticket to the store and scanned it and got a message to visit the Lottery office. I showed my friend the message I got, so he scanned my ticket using the Lottery app. When he showed me his phone screen with the amount of $1 million, I was in disbelief!”

Though he is a big winner, Silvera doesn't have big plans for the money.

“Winning is an excellent feeling! As of now, I plan to save my winnings and continue working,” said Silvera.
